Recruit Con-2019 an employment oriented skills training programme was organized on 10th and 11th January, 2019. The two-day programme was aimed at creating a platform for the under Graduate and Post Graduate students from the colleges across Kachchh to get acquainted with the skills required to get a job in corporate sector and showcase and gauge their present repertoire as a prospect in the present-day job market. Among all the training sessions during the programme on both days, in the sessions on “Personality Development”, the teacher and trainer Mr. Maulik Dholakia explained it in terms of corporate sector for securing a job and in the sessions on“ Résumé Writing” he narrated the ‘What’ and ‘How’ of an International CV, American style Résumé and Indian CV. In another session on “Group Discussion”, the dos and don’ts of it as a scrutinizing process for an interview was elaborated on the second day by Dr Shilpa Bhatt, the Education Coordinator of Anjar Education Society and in charge Principal of H.B.Palan Commerce College, Anjar and Dr. Fareed Khoja, the Principal of Smt K G Manek English School. While on the first day, the same was narrated by Mr. Jiten Sharma, an Engineering Graduate and the winner of many Group Discussion awards. The first day also included a session on “Interpersonal Skills and Self Motivation” jointly conducted by Mr. Dixit Goswami, the Head of HR at Excel Crop Care Ltd., and Mr. Kamlesh Nathani. They explained vividly that how these skills are important in today’s highly competitive job hunting.
Mr. Kiran Shah, the trustee of Anjar Education Society, shared his thought with the budding job-seekers as a key note speaker on both the days. Mr. Chandrakant Palan, the President of Anjar Education Society shared the Vision of the Society for Education as a whole and in terms of today’s highly challenging scenario of skill development and skill training and also showed the readiness of the Society in helping the youth of entire Kachchh in their Career by introducing many job-oriented and skill-oriented courses in future.
In the Valedictory speech on both days, Dr Tushar Hathi, a blunt speaker, an eminent professor and columnist on Indian Economy and the burning issues of today’s society, shared his call of awareness about self-development and self-responsibility to the participants of the programme. The students of UG on the first day and PG on the second day participated whole- heartedly in Group Discussion and Mock Interview Sessions in which CA Mr Piyush Thacker, Mr Vipul Bhatt and Mr Rao spent their valuable time and contributed to the Society’s effort as the panelists for the mock interview and judges for the Group Discussion.
Against the expectation of only a one-day programme and catering to about a hundred students, the Society got a whopping response from all the Arts, Science, Commerce, Education and Management colleges across Kachchh with more than 380 participants which was a big success in itself. As a result of that the programme was divided into two days keeping some sessions the same and some others modified for the UG and PG students to cater to their needs better. Among all the participants, Gagandeep Kaur from Tolani Commerce College, Chandni Goraj from Rajabhai Patel College of Economics and Commerce and Ashishkumar Jha from Sanskar Institute of Management & Information Technology were selected as the Best Performers of the Day on the first day and Ranu Shukla from Dr. H.R. Gajwani College of Education, Khushboo Gadhvi from Smt.V.D.Thacker College of Education and Ritu Bambhaniya from Dr. H.R. Gajwani College of Education on the second day. On both the days, Event Co-ordinator, Ms Bhavi Dholakia and Mr Ravi Kotak compèred the programme. Mr Ashish Parmar and Ms Namrata Ganatra assisted the speakers in the presentations and the slide shows. The programme could have never been such a grand success without efficient and co-operative service staff and the other Asst Professors, Ms Reena Nathani and Ms. Minal Tank & Librarian Ms. Shilpa Vaghani.
